The guy who pulled Westlake through a difficult first half against El Segundo on Wednesday night was senior center Andreas Svennefiord.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half and played a key role in keeping El Segundo out of the paint in the second half even though he fouled out in the fourth quarter. But give the kid a break -- he was in charge of keeping El Segundo standout Kevin Ryan under control. Westlake beat the Eagles, 61-53.
