You might say Kalena Tutt has an affection for rejection. Of course, we mean blocks, which Tutt averages nearly six per game.

Saturday night, she had 10 more blocked shots as the Millikan girls’ basketball team beat Tustin, 79-38, in the first round of the Southern Section Division I-AA playoffs. It was the fourth time this season Tutt recorded double-digit blocks.

Tutt, a 6-foot-3 forward, and her blocking skills are bound for San Diego State.

‘Kalena is a player with a ton of upside,’ Millikan Coach Lorene Morgan told SD State. ‘She’s got a lot of power, slashes to the basket well and can jump out of the gym. She has been one of our team’s leading rebounders. And every day she steps on the court, she’s feeling like she will make a big impact.’

Often, Tutt does just that -- makes a big impact. Just look how she blocks.
