If you’re wondering what to do with your rainy Saturday morning, why not add a little more H2O to the equation and go see a couple crosstown rivals play for a divisional water polo title?

In case you haven’t heard, top-seeded Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara will splash it out one last time out at Santa Barbara HS at 11 a.m. on Saturday with a Division II championship on the line.

Dos Pueblos is the clear favorite thanks to its two Channel League victories over the Dons, but Santa Barbara is coming off an amazing 10-6 victory over a very talented Villa Park squad it actually lost to last month. Plus, the Dons have history behind them. Santa Barbara has won eight of 10 divisional title games it has played in since 1998.

But the Dons will have to rely on more than past achievements if it wants to keep freshman Kiley Neushul under control. Neushul is considered one of the best scorers in Southern California. Freshman Tiera Schroeder (niece of Olympic medalist Terry Schroeder) and sophomore Amanda Redfern also know how to hit the back of the net on a regular basis.

No matter what happens, it’ll definitely be an excitingly soggy spectacle in normally-radiant Santa Barbara.
