Pair of Antelope Valley teams seeking approval from peers

The boys’ basketball programs from the Golden League probably don’t get as much credit as they deserve. There’s a lack of respect, to be sure. The perception, however, could be on the verge of changing considering how well Knight and Highland have done during the Southern Section playoffs thus far.

Both teams have been impressive over the course of the first and second rounds of Division II-A play. But in order to take the next step, one of two things must happen in Friday’s quarterfinals: Knight needs to defeat Ocean View, or, the Bulldogs must upset top-seeded Rancho Verde. Respect comes with winning, it comes with making an appearance in the semifinals.
