Girls’ basketball: Another Saugus coach calls it quits

According to the Daily News, Saugus girls’ basketball coach Eric Olsson has resigned. Olsson led the Centurions to a 21-7 record and a share of the Foothill League title this past season.

The veteran coach was in his second stint with the girls’ basketball team, coaching the Centurions from 2000-03 before returning in 2005. In 2004, he led Fresno Clovis West to a Central Section divisional title. Since his return from his Fresno adventure, Olsson posted a 68-43 record.

Olsson’s decision to resign follows that of boys’ basketball coach Jeff Hallman, who hung up his practice whistle last week.
