Forgive me, but if Santa Margarita doesn’t win its state Division III boys’ championship game against Sacramento by more than 15 points, call me a lousy judge of talent.

The Thompson brothers, Klay and Trayce, started the game with three-pointers. Then Klay (pictured in action against Dominguez) added two free throws for an 8-0 lead two minutes into the game. It’s up to 12-3 with 4:09 left in the opening quarter here at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

It’s early, but I have confidence because Santa Margarita is one of the best teams in the state, having fought Mater Dei and Dominguez in close losses.
