Last week was a crazy seven-day stretch for several baseball teams in the SF Valley/North region. That said, don’t be surprised when you see a major shakeup in my top 10 list this time around because it’s not going to look anything like the previous rankings.

Just as a I thought, Santa Barbara was exposed for playing a weak schedule, so you won’t see the Dons among the area’s best. St. Bonaventure stumbled as well and won’t be making an appearance. So, without further delay, let’s take look at who did:

1. Westlake (9-3): Defeated Notre Dame and made it look easy, winning 12-2.

2. Crespi (10-3): Knew the Celts would rise toward the top at some point.

3. Hart (9-4): Struggled against Valencia with ace Mike Montgomery on the hill.

4. Notre Dame (11-2): Victory over Simi Valley sandwiched by losses.

5. Valencia (8-3): Winners of four in a row opened some eyes with win over Indians.

6. Simi Valley (9-5): Was the hottest team around. Then lost three in a row.

7. Newbury Park (11-4): Proved they belong among best with good showing in Vegas.

8. Thousand Oaks (8-7): Slide continues. Things don’t get easier in Marmonte League.

9. Camarillo (11-3): Playing well, and just in time for Pacific View League opener.

10. Quartz Hill (8-5-2): Split two games against Golden League rival Palmdale.
