Just got back from Foothill High -- my arch-nemesis school when I attended Tustin High back in the day -- after watching the 36th annual Foothill Swim Games this morning. Very overcast which was kinda nice, especially after sitting through Thursday’s prelims in oven-like conditions.

Since I was already there to cheer on my sophomore daughter (I won’t reveal the school, but no, it’s not Tustin), thought I best jot down some notes on the outcome while you await Dan Albano’s more detailed account in my current arch-nemesis, the O.C. Register.

The El Toro boys finished first, followed by Santa Margarita, Esperanza, Foothill and Northwood. The Santa Margarita girls finished first, followed by Esperanza, Foothill, Northwood and El Toro.

Overall, Santa Margarita took top honors, followed by Esperanza, El Toro and Foothill (I didn’t quite catch who finished fifth but I’m pretty sure it must have been Northwood).

Other participating schools were Brea Olinda, Costa Mesa, Irvine and JSerra.

And my daughter came home with a medal (I won’t tell you what place, but no, it wasn’t first but it also wasn’t last).
