Here’s my weekly take on the best teams in the SF Valley/North region:

  1. Simi Valley (23-0, 10-0) -- Ventura County’s greatest start should keep on truckin’ into the postseason.
  2. Hart (19-3, 7-0) -- Indians riding 14-game winning streak and could clinch the Foothill League title with another victory over Valencia on Thursday.
  3. Valencia (20-5, 5-1) -- No one can replicate Jessica Spigner‘s awesome ability to dominate in both the circle and the batters’ box.
  4. Thousand Oaks (18-4, 8-2) -- I’m still getting over that triple play.
  5. Agoura (12-9, 5-5) -- Overcame an injury to top starter Kimberly Green to take gutsy victory over Royal.
  1. Royal (11-11, 6-4) -- Sacred Heart-bound Liz Tsipouras sports a 0.75 ERA heading into a critical four-game stretch that includes TO and Simi Valley.
  2. Westlake (9-11, 3-7) -- Winning their last four games should give the Warriors an automatic playoff berth.
  3. Oak Park (16-4, 8-0) -- Can this team conquer Thousand Oaks on Saturday?
  4. Camarillo (16-7, 5-1) -- The little cracks finally hit the surface against Pacifica and Oak Park.
  5. Burbank (17-1, 8-1) -- I swear I’ll rank this team higher if it beats Crescenta Valley on Wednesday.

Close, but not quite: Oxnard, Newbury Park, Pacifica, Rio Mesa
