A few weeks back, West Torrance Coach Juan Cueva told me his ace, Kyle Petter, had committed to play for Cal State Fullerton.

That’s when I went out to watch Petter pitch and witnessed why Fullerton would want the kid. He’s the most coveted of baseball players -- a power-pitching lefty who can throw three different pitches for strikes.

Petter recently made it official -- he signed a letter of intent to play for Fullerton.

When I last spoke to Petter, he was 8-0. At this point now, I’m thinking he’s either 9-0 or 10-0 -- I do know he’s still undefeated.

Here’s an idea...

Go check out Petter’s next game. He and second-place West Torrance (20-3, 5-1) play on Wedneday at first-place Palos Verdes (23-3, 6-0), and this could be the biggest Bay League battle of the season.
