Football: Who’s No. 2 QB behind Barkley?

USC-bound Matt Barkley from Mater Dei is the consensus No. 1 quarterback in the Southland, but several other quarterbacks are picking up college offers and figure to make a run at Barkley for No. 1 this fall.

Upland’s Josh Nunes, pictured, has picked up 16 scholarship offers, the latest being one from Oklahoma. Mission Viejo’s Allan Bridgford has offers from California, Stanford, Arizona and Arizona State. Richard Brehaut from Los Osos has offers from San Diego State, Colorado, Boise State and Arizona.

But if you want to know who’s No. 2 behind Barkley, wait to see who UCLA offers from the list of seniors in the Southland.

That will reveal the feelings of offensive coordinator Norm Chow. The question is whether these players are going to wait until UCLA finishes its evaluations.
