Jon Moscot led off the top of the second inning with a home run to give eighth-seeded Palisades a surprising 1-0 lead over top-seeded Chatsworth in Friday’s City Section Championship Division quarterfinal game.

The Dolphins had a chance to add to their lead when Ryan Holman singled with runners on first and second, but Chancellors’ catcher Carlos Escobar Jr. snared a throw from left fielder Andrew Klausmeier and tagged out Palisades’ Zach Dauber at home plate to end the inning.

Chatsworth has a runner on first with nobody out in the bottom of the second inning. This game is already more competitive than last year’s semifinal when the Chancellors mercied Palisades, 11-1, in six innings.
