It appears my colleague Martin Henderson knows how to invest.

Just minutes after blogging he thought San Pedro was ripe to open up the game with a big swing, the state’s biggest swinger of all-time, Perelini Koria, hit a solo home run well over the center-field wall to give the Pirates a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth of their City Section Championship Division final against El Camino Real.

Koria’s 13th homer of the season pushed her state career record to 45 and signaled a small rally for San Pedro, which leads, 3-1, heading into the top of the seventh inning.

We’ll see if El Camino Real can get it bats going in what could be its last three outs of the season.
