Boys’ basketball: Sidney sighting at Fairfax

Renardo Sidney, the 6-foot-10 center at Fairfax, hasn’t been around much this summer as far as playing for the Lions is concerned, but he’s in town this week and supposed to suit up for the Fairfax tournament that runs through Sunday.
The Lions open play tonight against La Canada at 7:10. Solomon Hill, the Lions’ other top player, is participating in a camp and won’t arrive until Saturday. Hill has scholarship offers from Arizona, Kansas State and UNLV, among others.
Other games today: Taft vs. Long Beach Poly at 4:30 p.m.; Westchester vs. Dorsey at 5:50 p.m. and Mater Dei vs. Crespi at 8:30 p.m.
