For those of you out there who can’t enough hoops in your life, I’ve got some good news, actually some great news. This weekend’s 11th annual Fullcourt Press All-West Camp offers fans, avid and recreational alike, the opportunity to see several of the Southland’s top athletes in action -- all in one place, at one time.

Games begin at noon Friday at The Hangar in Hawthorne, followed by a short break in the afternoon before play resumes around 6 p.m. The schedule is essentially the same Saturday, and Sunday’s highlight figures to be the top-20 game at 5 p.m. Here’s a short list of the players expected to be in attendance this weekend.

  • Jeremy Tyler: The 6-foot-11 junior from San Diego is considered by most to be the top underclassman in the nation. He’s the must-see player at this must-see event.
  • Michael Snaer: Division I programs from all across the country are interested in the athletic 6-5 senior from Rancho Verde. Everyone has been jumping on the bandwagon.
  • Roberto Nelson: Somehow, some way, the senior earned the respect from scouts at the next level despite doing his thing out of the spotlight at Santa Barbara.
  • Justin Hawkins: With Larry Drew Jr. out of the picture, Hawkins finally gets his chance to be the man at Taft. And the senior appears fully capable of getting the job done.
  • Joe Burton: At 6-8, 275-plus pounds, the senior from Hemet West Valley has the build of a football player. But make no mistake, he’s got the game of a baller, no doubt about it.
  • Victor Rudd: This event is tailor-made for the senior wing from Van Nuys, who has played well, extremely well, during the spring and summer evaluation periods.
  • Cezar Guerrero: There’s been a big-time buzz surrounding the sophomore point guard from St. John Bosco this summer. He’s one to watch now and in the future.
