The Los Angeles team has advanced to the RBI World Series, for ages 13 to 15, next month in Compton. First baseman Ron Miller, who will be a freshman at Crenshaw, hit a two-run home run to help Los Angeles defeat Houston, 6-1, and win the Southwestern Regional Junior Division title.

Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities is a program run by Major League Baseball. The World Series will be held Aug. 7 to 11 at the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy, with the championship game held at Angel Stadium.
