Atascadero RB Nick Tenhaeff, who played a vital role in pushing the Greyhounds to a share of the Pac-7 League title in 2007, told the San Luis Obispo Tribune that he has committed to San Diego State.

Tenhaeff rushed for 1,700 yards and 19 TDs as a junior in addition to making 21 tackles on defense. He is one of the reasons why Atascadero is pegged to win a third consecutive Pac-7 League title this fall. Eric Sondheimer also included Tenhaeff in his listing of the area’s top running backs.

If all goes according to plan, Tenhaeff will join fellow county resident Jerome Long, who probably will see playing time as a true freshman defensive tackle for the Aztecs.
