Once Tom Lewis resigned as coach at San Juan Capistrano JSerra, I figured there would be some kind of fallout, and stated as much in this blog about three weeks ago. Turns out, my hunch was right, things are a mess and there’s nothing new Coach Grant Meyers can do about it.

It appears as if Demetrius Walker has transferred to St. Mary’s in Phoenix, according to ArizonaPreps.com. The loss is a huge blow for the Eagles, given the fact that the 6-foot-4 senior, bound for USC, is considered by most scouts to be one of the top shooting guards in his class.

Only Southland standouts such as Rancho Verde’s Michael Snaer and Santa Barbara’s Roberto Nelson are ranked higher at their position than Walker. And make no mistake, replacing a player of that caliber won’t be easy for San Juan Capistrano JSerra. In fact, it’s next to impossible.

I heard rumors San Diego State-bound Alec Williams and junior guard Casey James could be considering a change of scenery as well. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to confirm anything yet. If, and when, some new information becomes available, Varsity Times Readers will be the first to know.
