L.A. Baptist in North Hills will hold a ceremony before its Oct. 11 football game against St. Margaret’s to name its new $2.5-million stadium after track standout Allyson Felix.

Felix is scheduled to attend the 1 p.m. game that will be played on a new synthetic-surface turf field. The field also includes a new all-weather track.

‘She’s just a great representative of the school,’ Vice Principal Robert Chevalier said.

Felix, one of the top sprinters in the world, graduated from L.A. Baptist and frequently returns to speak with students.

The football game should be well attended because it’s a homecoming of sorts for St. Margaret’s Coach Harry Welch, who used to be the coach at nearby Canyon Country Canyon.
