8. SO Notre Dame (3-0)

9. Oaks Christian (4-0)

10. Redlands East Valley (3-0)

11. Edison (3-1)

12. Vista Murrieta (4-0)

13. Los Osos (2-1)

14. Bishop Amat (3-1)

15. Upland (4-0)

16. St. John Bosco (4-0)

17. Orange Lutheran (3-1)

18. Los Alamitos (3-0)

19. Lakewood (4-0)

20. Rancho Verde (3-0)

21. Loyola (2-2)

22. Corona Santiago (2-1)

23. Chaparral (2-1)

24. Tesoro (4-0)

25. Serra (4-0)

Moving In: Vista Murrieta. The Broncos beat Los Osos, which beat Bishop Amat. Must mean they’re pretty good, no?

Moving Out: Palmdale. The Falcons were quickly grounded after top-25 cameo in wake of 35-34 loss to Valencia.

Moving Up: Corona Centennial. The Huskies looked good against Mater Dei. Long Beach Poly didn’t impress against Carson. That’s reason enough for us to initiate a shake-up at the top of the rankings. St. Bonaventure also looked worthy of a nice rankings bump after crushing Crespi. St. John Bosco got a seven-spot bump after routing Loyola.

Moving Down: Long Beach Poly. Sorry, Jackrabbits, but you had to take a hit after struggling to score against the Colts. Mater Dei also moved down a spot after needing to rally from a three-touchdown deficit during a sloppy victory over L.A. Jordan. The Monarchs’ defense needs some work and quarterback Matt Barkley, with nine interceptions in four games, could improve his efficiency. We’re only docking Los Osos one spot for a loss to Vista Murrieta, but with the Broncos making their rankings debut at No. 12, several teams, including Bishop Amat and Upland, each fell one spot despite winning. Loyola moved down six spots but warrants staying in the rankings at 2-2 because its losses are to Concord De La Salle and St. John Bosco.
