Ryan Kasdorf and Notre Dame (5-0) proved on Friday night they are definitely contenders for the Pac-5 Division title this December.

Kasdorf completed 27 of 37 passes for a school-record 418 yards and four touchdowns as Notre Dame, ranked No. 8 by The Times, defeated No. 6 Servite (3-2), 31-24, at Cerritos College.

The game ended at 11:22 p.m. following a power outage prior to the start of the game which delayed the contest 62 minutes.

Kasdorf broke Steve Cottrell’s single-game team record of 381 yards set in 1979. Notre Dame’s latest quarterback sensation has passed for 1,577 yards and 17 touchdowns with two interceptions through five games.

I’m going to bed (after my hour-long drive back home, that is).
