Here’s our Friday night football game plan

I’ll be spending the evening blogging live from Cal State Fullerton, where Servite will attempt to beat Mater Dei for the first time in 20 years.

Plenty of folks (including myself) think the Friars are poised to defeat their Trinity League rivals and it’ll be interesting to see how Servite responds following last week’s outing against Notre Dame. Still, let’s not overlook Mater Dei. I know they lost to an Edison squad that Servite beat earlier this season, but the Monarchs had 17 penalties in that game and when was the last time they did that? I’m guessing at least 20 years ago, if ever.

We’ll also have updates from the Mission Viejo-Tesoro, Carson-San Pedro and Notre Dame-Alemany contests, so be sure to check back on the main blog throughout the night. As always, our stats guru, Eric Maddy, will post all the scores from around the Southland (or at least the vast majority of them) around 11 p.m.
