Once again, we’ll be staking out some of the biggest games in Southern California on Friday night.

I’ll be blogging play-by-play coverage of the Moorpark-Thousand Oaks game and I’m looking forward to covering my first game out in Ventura County this year after spending most of the season down in the OC.

The Lancers, ranked No. 24 by The Times, are favored to win this supposed Marmonte League title game, but there are plenty of folks out there (including Eric Sondheimer) who believe Moorpark can put the brakes on running back John Lister and pull off an upset.

Speaking of Sondheimer, he’ll be watching No. 13 St. John Bosco take on No. 18 Orange Lutheran at Orange Coast College. St. John Bosco quarterback Keith Price, pictured, and the rest of the Braves have enjoyed a great turnaround season.

Ben Bolch will have periodic updates from the much-anticipated Baseline League duel between No. 12 Upland and No. 10 Los Osos. You’ll definitely want to check out his story on future Pac-10 adversaries Richard Brehaut and Josh Nunes, a couple of guys who figure to play critical roles in their respective team’s chances.

And Sean Ceglinsky will have updates from what was arguably the most-exciting game of 2007 -- the Santa Clarita-based rivalry between Canyon and Hart. We’ll also have game scores from around the Southland.

Oh, and check out this video on Nunes:
