There are lots of baseball camps taking place next month while kids are on winter break, but there’s a special one taking place Dec. 20-21 for kids ages 7 to 13. It’s the Hugs for Cubs Baseball Camp run by former USC infielder Jon Brewster and several of his friends.

They are hoping to raise funds to support young children with cancer. They originally were seeking $175 per person but because of tough economic times, are just asking for a donation. They want to focus on teaching baseball fundamentals while helping kids in need.

To register or donate, here’s their website. Ex-Notre Dame players Chris Dickerson, Alec Moss and Brett Hayes, ex-Kennedy pitcher Jack Cassel and ex-Chatsworth pitcher Justin Cassel will be among the players joining Brewster at the camp, which will be held on the Montclair Prep field at the Encino Franklin Fields.
