Game blogging: No. 7 Venice at No. 2 San Pedro

Seventh-seeded Venice has turned things around with six straight wins after an 0-5 start. We’ll see if the Gondoliers can carry that momentum when they meet No. 2 San Pedro tonight at 7. Venice went 0-5 in its nonleague season against San Fernando, Taft, Muir, Santa Monica and Oaks Christian, but rebounded in Western League competition.

The Gondoliers won their first round matchup against Carson, 25-20. The Pirates (10-1) defeated No. 15 Sylmar, 34-3, in the first round. Their only setback came Oct. 24 in a triple-overtime loss against Narbonne. San Pedro has won four straight games since then.
