Live football blog: Mission Viejo at Lakewood

It’ll be tough for Lakewood to replicate the kind of excitement generated out of last week’s overtime victory over Servite, but tonight’s game against the Diablos figures to be just as unpredictable.

Behind the golden arm of quarterback Jesse Scroggins, the Lancers have won five of their last six games and are playing their best football of the season. Mission Viejo has it’s own prolific pigskin hurler in Cal-bound quarterback Allan Bridgford and I’m sure the Diablos are eager to show the Pac-5 Division that they’re more than just the team who lost to Tesoro.

So be sure to check back here around 7:30 p.m. for my live blog. Hopefully, you’ll be done shopping by then.

* Unfortunately, I won’t be able to blog live from the game tonight. The Lakewood press box isn’t quite 21st-century ready -- there aren’t any available power outlets and the my Internet connection keeps going in and out. Although, I will say the complimentary Jolly Ranchers and sunflower seeds are pretty nice.

I’ll have quarter-by-quarter updates on the main blog.
