Football: Poly pulls into 10-10 tie

Melvin Richardson ran for a one-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to pull top-seeded Long Beach Poly into a 10-10 tie with Lakewood in their Pac-5 Division semifinal.

The Jackrabbits have had two substantive drives in the third quarter but the first was foiled by a fumble. Richardson has 55 yards in eight carries in the third quarter.

Poly has not allowed more than 17 points during its 24-game winning streak, so the Lancers will probably need at least one more touchdown to win.
