As first reported by LBPostSports.com, the powerhouse Long Beach Wilson girls’ soccer team has forfeited four Moore League victories after a player participated in a non-CIF-sanctioned soccer league.

The Bruins dropped from co-champions with Long Beach Poly to fourth place in the league standings as a result of the forfeits, and they will enter the playoffs as a fourth-seeded team instead of a second-seeded team.

The forfeited victories--against Jordan, Lakewood, Cabrillo and Compton--all came after the player participated in the non-CIF-sanctioned league on Jan. 23. Wilson self-reported the violation after it was brought to the attention of Coach Jason Kirkwood.
