Wrestling: Victoria Anthony wins section title

Marina’s Victoria Anthony won the 103-pound weight class at the Inland Divisional on Saturday, becoming what is believed to be the first female to win a Southern Section individual wrestling title under the current divisional format.

Anthony also advanced to the Masters Meet this week. She qualified for the Masters two years ago after finishing fifth in the divisional and finished 1-2. Last year she did not qualify for the Masters after finishing seventh in the divisional.

Anthony can now set her sights on becoming the first Southern Section female to advance to state competition.
