Football: It’s Barnes vs. Barnes in O.C. All-Star game

It will be Barnes versus Barnes, Part II, when Los Alamitos’ John Barnes and son Brian Barnes of Tesoro face off as opposing coaches in the 50th Annual Brea Lions Club Orange County North/South prep all-star football game July 10 at LeBard Stadium in Costa Mesa.

Brian Barnes will coach the South team and John Barnes the North team. The younger Barnes already enjoyed one triumph over his father in November when Tesoro defeated Los Alamitos, 23-7, in the first round of the Pac-5 Division playoffs.

The game benefits the Pediatric Adolescent Diabetic Research & Education Foundation, Western Youth Services, the Orange County Youth Foundation and local high schools and youth groups.
