How often do you see two long snappers from the same high school obtain college scholarships?
It’s happened at San Clemente, where Joey Waters recently accepted a scholarship from UC Davis as a long snapper, becoming the fifth Tritons player and second long snapper from the school to secure a scholarship. Evan Jacobsen, who was also a long snapper for San Clemente, is headed to New Mexico.
Waters played linebacker and was the snapper on field goals for the Tritons. He will enroll at UC Davis in the fall but will not join the roster until January 2010. His scholarship starts the following fall.
