While waiting for my flight back from vacation yesterday afternoon at the Portland airport, I saw a familiar face amble by in the terminal: Crenshaw’s Moriah Johnson.

Many athletes either ignore reporters, act like they don’t see them or maybe give a cursory wave at best. Not Johnson.

He stopped by to say hello and told me he was visiting George Fox University, located in Newberg, Ore., in the heart of the Willamette Valley. According to its web site, George Fox is ‘a Christian university of the humanities, sciences and professional studies founded in 1891 by Quaker pioneers.’

Johnson, who is the star of the BET reality show ‘Baldwin Hills,’ has openly espoused Christian views on the show, including the desire to be abstinent before marriage. Sounds like George Fox might be a good fit for a good kid.
