Lakewood safety Dion Bailey received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame last week and told Rivals.com that the Fighting Irish are ‘going to be in my top five, I’m pretty sure.’

Bailey also has received offers from UCLA, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington, among others. He expects to take an official visit to South Bend, Ind., at some point.

Lakewood will be a hot destination for college coaches this fall because of the presence of Bailey, running back Jerry Stone, quarterback Jesse Scroggins (who has offers from Louisiana State, Tennessee, Arizona State, Arizona and Washington) and wide receiver Kevin Anderson (Arizona State, Washington, Washington State and Southern Methodist).

Bailey said playing time will be a primary factor in his college choice.

‘It’s very important to me,’ he told Rivals.com. ‘I don’t want to go to place where I’m the fifth man on the depth chart.’
