Oaks Christian possibly on the move in league realignment

A Southern Section releaguing appeals committee has recommended that Westlake Village Oaks Christian’s sports teams move into the Marmonte League and that Calabasas’ teams move out effective with the 2010-11 school year. Calabasas would replace Oaks Christian in the Tri-Valley League under the proposal.

The committee also recommended that Ventura St. Bonaventure should remain part of the Tri-Valley League and compete in the Channel League only in football; that Brea Olinda move to the Freeway League in all sports and Anaheim Western move to the Orange League in all sports; and that Glendora move to the Sierra League in all sports and West Covina South Hills move to the San Antonio/Miramonte League in all sports.

Schools unhappy with the recommendations can appeal to the section’s executive committee prior to its May 20 meeting. The recommendations could be approved during a vote by the section council on Oct. 22.
