Baseball: Valencia is in first place in the Foothill League

Valencia began the week one-game behind West Ranch in the battle for first place in the Foothill League, but the week ends with Valencia in first place after the Vikings completed a two-game sweep of the Wildcats, winning 22-6 on Friday.
Valencia is 18-6 overall and 11-2 in league. West Ranch is 19-6 and 10-3. There are two league games to play.
In another Foothill game, Newhall Hart defeated Canyon Country Canyon, 8-2.
