Bret Dahlson hit a three-run homer to help JSerra clinch its first Trinity League title tonight with a 12-4 victory over Santa Margarita.

The Lions (21-5 overall, 12-2 league) scored 10 unanswered runs--five in the second inning, five in the third--to pull away. Dylan Christensen went three for four and leadoff hitter Austin Hedges reached base three times after twice being hit by pitches and drawing a walk.

Sophomore right-hander Keaton Siomkin allowed only one run in four innings, providing a big boost to a pitching staff that has missed ace ‘Jumbo’ Joe Kurrasch the last two weeks because of biceps tendinitis. Coach Brett Kay said he hoped Kurrach could return in time for the playoffs next week.

JSerra opened a three-game lead over Mater Dei (20-5, 9-5) after the Monarchs lost to Orange Lutheran, 3-0, tonight despite allowing only one hit. The Lions conclude the regular season Wednesday against Santa Margarita.
