Pretty soon it’s going to be easier to give a list of schools that haven’t offered scholarships to Narbonne safety Sean Parker than those that have.

North Carolina became the latest to hop on the Parker bandwagon, extending a scholarship offer, said Gauchos assistant coach Byron Moore. That’s 27 schools that have offered scholarships, for those keeping tally. Tar Heels coaches flew across the country to watch Parker practice and review tape of his last two seasons.

North Carolina is an intriguing possibility because it is a strong academic institution and Parker has a 3.8 grade-point average. The Tar Heels also play in Keenan Stadium, one of the most picturesque settings for college football. I know because I grew up in nearby Raleigh, N.C., and attended dozens of games there in the 1980s and early 1990s.
