Track: Carroll, Wyatt show off their talent in specialties

UCLA-bound Randall Carroll of Los Angeles Cathedral and USC-bound Reggie Wyatt of Riverside La Sierra didn’t disappoint Saturday at the Southern Section track and field finals at Cerritos College.

Carroll won the Division III 100 in 10.39 seconds and the 200 in 20.93. Wyatt won the Division I 400 in 46.45, the 200 in 21.21 and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 35.74.

The 100 also featured strong victories by Maxwell Dyce of Moorpark (10.43) in Division II and Kyle Middlebrooks of Fountain Valley (10.51) in Division I.

Loyola’s Elias Gedyon cruised to victory in the Division II 1,600 in 4:14.14. But he was beaten in the 800 by Sean Krink of Placentia Valencia who won with a time of 1:51.82.

Gardena Serra is running away with the Division IV team championship in boys’ and girls’. Robert Woods won the 400 in 47.31 and the 200 in 21.43.

Palmdale Highland’s Jessica Davis ran the third-fastest girls’ 200 when she won the Division I race in 20.93. She also took the 100 in 11.45.
