Baseball: Norco’s Hobgood is selected state player of the year

Norco’s Matt Hobgood, who’s 11-0 on the mound and has hit 21 home runs, has been named the Gatorade state player of the year in baseball.

‘We’ve had a lot of good athletes at this school, but we’ve never had someone who can change the outcome of a game the way Hobgood can,’ Coach Gary Parcell said.

It puts Hobgood in contention for national player of the year.
