After trailing for much of the race, El Toro senior Toby Villalva put together a strong finish to pull away and win the boys’ 1,600 in 4:10.05 this evening at the Masters Meet at Cerritos College.

Dana Hills’ Tyler Valdes was second in 4:11.35 and Loyola’s Elias Gedyon was third in 4:11.41. The top 10 finishers advanced to next week’s state meet after meeting the qualifying time.
