Boys’ basketball: Taft is big winner in early summer league play

Taft’s De’Andre Daniels had a big showing with 25 points, nine rebounds and four blocks Monday to lead the Toreadors to a 72-51 summer-league victory over Agoura at Taft High. Bryce Jones had 15 points and eight rebounds and sophomore Spencer Dinwiddie had nine assists for Taft.

In other games at Taft, Treyare Holden had 26 points and six rebounds to lead El Camino Real to a 47-29 victory over Buckley; Rene Reyes had 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for Birmingham during a 60-45 victory over Alemany; Crespi’s Matt Mounier scored 18 points to lead the Celts to a 66-40 triumph over Golden Valley; and Austin Kelly scored 17 points and was one of four Harvard-Westlake players to post double digits during a 65-45 victory over Simi Valley.

The league resumes play June 29.
