Woodland Hills Taft has picked up another top player in its bid to topple Westchester in City Section basketball. Jordan Gathers, a starting guard last season at Los Angeles Loyola, went to school on Monday and informed Coach Jamal Adams that he was transferring to Taft.

Reports all summer had indicated Gathers was leaving Loyola. He didn’t play for the Cubs in summer competitions. Gathers was spotted shooting around in July at Taft before a Toreadors summer game and denied that he was headed to Taft.

But Adams said Gathers told him his mother got a new job and has moved to the San Fernando Valley.

‘All the rumors were true,’ Adams said.
