With Anthony Barr lost for the season because of ankle surgery, Los Angeles Loyola has turned to junior Jared Baker to provide a lift.

Baker delivered last week, rushing for 210 yards in 39 carries and scoring a touchdown in Loyola’s 21-10 victory over Bellflower St. John Bosco.

Loyola (2-2) has a bye this week, and it needs the time to prepare for an Oct. 10 game against unbeaten Valencia (3-0) and running back Steven Manfro at L.A. Valley College.
