A sellout of 12,000 fans is possible for tonight’s Long Beach Poly-Lakewood game at Long Beach Veterans Stadium. The crowd is filling up the seats, and I’m fortunate to get a seat in the so-called press box because the entire lower level has been taken over by Poly to treat parents to food and drink on homecoming. I’m up with the Poly coaches and statisticians.

Lakewood Coach Thadd MacNeal is confident his team will perform well in trying to end Poly’s 80-game Moore League win streak.

Poly Coach Raul Lara said he needs his team’s offensive and defensive lines to perform well for the Jackrabbits to be successful.

I think we’ll know early on if this is going to be an historic night.
