Mater Dei retakes the lead

Gutsy call, but it worked.

On a fourth-and-10 on Orange Lutheran’s 28-yard line, Mater Dei decided to go for it. What resulted was a 28-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Max Wittek into the hands of --who else -- Victor Blackwell. Zac Chocek’s extra point gave the Monarchs a 13-7 lead with 6:13 remaining in the second quarter.
