Football: It’s almost time for Crenshaw-Dorsey

The stands are filling up about an hour before top-ranked Crenshaw plays host to Coliseum League rivaly Dorsey in what could amount to one of the final stumbling blocks for the Cougars in their quest to become the first City Section team to play in a CIF state championship bowl game.

Crenshaw Coach Robert Garrett said getting ready to face Dorsey’s three-quarterback system was ‘like preparing for three teams’ because each player presents different challenges for the Cougars defense.

Crenshaw has won the last two meetings in the series. I’ll provide scoring updates throughout the game, provided I don’t get kicked out of the cramped press box.
