If you can’t wait for the regular basketball season to begin, Westchester and Woodland Hills Taft, the likely top two teams in the City Section, are scheduled to scrimmage at 5 p.m. on Thursday at Westchester.

Of course, the two schools are also favored to meet in the championship game of the Westchester tournament on Dec. 5. And you can probably count on a third meeting in the City Division I final at USC’s Galen Center in March. And maybe a fourth meeting in the Southern California Regionals.
