Football: S.O. Notre Dame has 21-14 halftime lead

Behind a balanced attack led by quarterback Ryan Kasdorf and tailback Kenneth Boggs, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame has taken a 21-14 halftime lead over visiting Fountain Valley in their Pac-5 Division first-round playoff game.

Kasdorf has completed eight of nine passes for 46 yards and a touchdown. He’s also run for a touchdown, and his one incompletion was a dropped pass. Boggs has rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown in 12 carries.

Fountain Valley has made two big plays on offense to keep the game close. Tailback Kyle Middlebrooks has touchdown runs of 57 and 50 yards and the Barons surprised the Knights by attempting an onside kick to start the game that Fountain Valley recovered.

Middlebrooks has 138 yards in 11 carries. Fountain Valley gets the ball to start the third quarter.
