Football: It’s Lakewood 13, Bishop Amat 10 at half

Bishop Amat closed the first half with a flourish, rolling off 10 unanswered points after Lakewood had capitalized on two punting plays gone awry for Bishop Amat. Lakewood holds a 13-10 lead at intermission.

Neither team has put together particularly impressive stats. Lakewood quarterback Jesse Scroggins, the most ballyhooed player on the field, has completed five of nine passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns.

Bishop Amat running back Jay Anderson has 39 yards and a touchdown in 14 carries after not touching the ball the first two series (possibly for disciplinary reasons, it would reason, since he’s the Lancers’ leading rusher).

Bishop Amat will get the ball to start the third quarter and could fully seize the momentum with another score.
