Now it’s time for the lobbying to begin.

Will it be an Open Division or Division II state championship bowl game for Crenshaw after the Cougars defeated Narbonne, 34-14, to win their first City Section title since 2005? Or might Crenshaw be shut out of the bowl games altogether?

Tailback De’Anthony Thomas had 193 yards and three touchdowns in 12 carries for Crenshaw (14-0), which is trying to complete its first undefeated season under Coach Robert Garrett.

Crenshaw will likely play in the Division II game if Huntington Beach Edison defeats Servite in the Pac-5 Division title game later today to improve to 14-0. The Chargers have played a tougher schedule than the Cougars.

But nothing is guaranteed for Crenshaw. Westlake also went 14-0 and will be considered for the Division II game, meaning there is a chance the Cougars could be shut out altogether.
